The '9th All India Laxmi salon of Photography-2013' was inaugurated at the Nirala
Art Gallery of Allahabad University, on Monday, 12th august 2013. Mr. Krishna
Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Allahabad Region, inaugurated the two
days photo exhibition at 1 pm. The winning entries of the 9th All India Photo
Salon hosted by the social organisation Sri Ganga Kalyan Sewa Samiti, were
exhibited in the photo-exhibition. The inaugural function was presided by Dr Ajay Jaitley, Head of the Visual
Arts department of Allahabad University and District magistrate, Allahabad Mr.
Rajshekhargrace the fuction as Guest of honour. The photo competition was
participated by over a hundred photographers from all parts of the country, in
monochrome, colour, nature, photo journalism and travel categories, informed
Jitendra Prakash, secretary of the organisation.

श्री गंगा कल्याण समिति की ओर से दो दिवसीय नौवीं अखिल भारतीय लक्ष्मी छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के निराला आर्ट गैलरी में 12 अगस्त को शुरू हुई। प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में इलाहाबाद परिक्षेत्र के निदेशक डाक सेवायें, कृष्ण कुमार यादव ने दीप प्रज्जवलित कर किया। उन्होंने प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन करने के बाद कहा कि इस तरह की छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन नियमित रूप से होना चाहिए। इससे युवा पीढ़ी को प्रेरणा मिलती है। डाक निदेशक श्री यादव ने कहा कि फोटोग्राफी एक विधा के साथ-साथ हमारे समाज और परिवेश का प्रतिबिंब भी है। मात्र आड़ी तिरछी लाइनें खींचनी ही फोटोग्राफी नहीं हैं बल्कि उसका यथार्थ भी निकलना चाहिए।
विशिष्ट अतिथि जिलाधिकारी राजशेखर ने फोटो प्रदर्शनी की प्रशंसा करते हुए कहा कि ऐसी छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी का आयोजन होना चाहिए जिससे कि कुछ नयापन लोगों को देखने को मिले। उन्होंने कहा कि छायाचित्र अपनी संस्कृति की पहचान को बढ़ावा देते हैं। इससे अधिक से अधिक लोगों को जुड़ना चाहिए।
अध्यक्षता करते हुए इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के दृश्य कला विभाग के विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो0 अजय जेतली ने कहा कि इलाहाबाद शुरू से ही साहित्यकारों, कलाकारो का कर्मक्षेत्र रहा है। इस शहर से सभी क्षेत्रों में लोगांे में पहचान भी बनायी है।
छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी के सचिव जितेन्द्र प्रकाश ने प्रदर्शनी पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि अगले वर्ष से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर के छायाकारों के भी छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी में देखने को मिलेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि इस बार छायाचित्र प्रदर्शनी में 119 फोटोग्राफरों की 1160 तस्वीरें आयी थीं। श्रीमती लक्ष्मी अवस्थी ने अतिथियों का स्वागत किया। कार्यक्रम में वीरेन्द्र पाठक, एस के यादव, राजेश सिंह, पवन द्विवेदी, संजोग मिश्रा, विरेन्द्र प्रकाश, केनिथ जान, अनुराग अस्थाना, अमरदीप, रजत शर्मा, संजीव बनर्जी, संजय सक्सेना सहित बड़ी संख्या में छायाकार और अन्य लोग मौजूद रहे। संचालन वरिष्ठ पत्रकार अभिलाष नारायण ने किया।
